When I came across Himalayan Products at an event last month , I immediately made it a point to share their story on the blog so I could provide you with some relevant information regarding cheese. Do you know that processed cheese is not the same as real cheese ? Actually, it cannot be even termed as real food but rather a means to mass produce low quality products at cheap rates. With primary ingredients being vegetable oils, sugar, preservatives, colours, excess sodium etc. , it can not be legally labeled as cheese in most countries but is instead tagged as “cheese food”,”cheese spread” or “cheese product” . Real cheese on the other hand contains calcium , zinc, Vitamin D and Vitamin K2 and is also a source of probiotic which is beneficial for the gut . In simple terms, Artisanal cheese is MADE by adding rennet to milk and ageing it over a period of time while Processed cheese is MANUFACTURED using dairy and non-dairy by-products like oils and sugars . Another very interesting fact is that not every kind of cheese is vegetarian . [Read more…] about Himalayan Products
Nut Khut Peanut Butter , Organza Foods While it is not a secret that peanut butter is a huge hit amongst children and growing teens , I do notice the weight conscious lot putting peanut butter under huge scrutiny when it comes to calorie counts. The calorie count is a separate matter as it depends entirely on your meals and exercise but peanut butters can prove to be quite beneficial if you are looking to boost your system with some rich potent nutrients. Peanut Butter contains good fats that help lower cholesterol and help prevent heart disease. They also contain antioxidants and Vitamin E that makes it excellent for the skin. They are a rich source of protein and potassium helping lower the risks of blood pressure and aiding in building muscles and healthy bones. [Read more…] about Nut Khut Peanut Butter , Organza Foods
The Skin Pantry Review. After suffering from recurrent skin rashes and hormonal disruptions for the last few years , I finally decided six months ago to delve a little deeper into my life and get a hang of what I was missing out on or what I was not doing right. The insights came pouring in all suggestive of a lifestyle that involves healthy food, physical activity , stress management ( I am talking about managing stress as it’s impossible to be stress free completely today ) and practising humility and kindness. However, one of the most common underlying reasons that came to me as a revelation was that I never really paid much attention to the amount of toxins the skin had been soaking up for years . To be honest , I had come across a few articles a couple of years ago that talked about toxins in beauty and skin products but it was six months ago that I realised the the skin absorbs a major amount of these toxins . Do deodorants cause cancer ? This is a question that has been a matter of debate for quite sometime now. I do not not wish to indulge in a debate online right now but I am quite sure that going natural is never a bad idea and on the other hand has long term benefits. Essentially, aluminium free and natural deodorants are recommended but to be more aware of the deodorant business I started reading frantically on the subject . My own research led me to the discovery of a brand called Just B Au Naturel . Ever since I decided to go natural, one of the most important goals was to change my deodorant as soon as I could. The reason was obviously the large amount of chemicals used in perfumes and deodorants. I was on a lookout for a brand in India that sold natural deodorant and was extremely relieved when I found Just B Au Natural after months of researching. It is of no wonder that one of most important factors in order to implement a healthier lifestyle is to follow a healthy diet. Since most of us are giving up dairy products for some reason or the order, I too got myself acquainted with the side effects of preservatives used in the dairy products that have been linked to hormonal imbalances ( I still have organic cow’s or goat’s milk).
